An Overview of the Tours
My most recent bicycle tour meandered from Fayetteville, Arkansas, to Tupelo, Mississippi, birthplace of Elvis. It took nine days and covered 462 miles. If you want to just look at maps, click the map above, and it will open my Wayfaring overview map. From there, you can click on any of the points to see a detailed map of that tour. (The 1982 Tour map is still being finished, but the rest are complete.)
For journals and photographs from previous tours, the links under Bicycle Tours in the sidebar to the right will take you to the beginning entry in each respective tour.
Don't know where I'll go touring next, perhaps the Katy Trail up in Missouri. Or Switzerland. So many choices. I am taking nominations and votes for my next tour. So far, I'm considering four different routes, although the fourth is probably too pricey to think about for the moment:
- Canadian Rockies
- Calgary, Alberta, to Banff to Jasper
- 250 miles
- About one week
- Katy Trail
- Sedalia, Mo., to Jeff City to St. Louis
- 225 miles
- Easy one week
- Lake Champlain and Hudson Valley
- Montreal, Quebec, to Albany to New York City
- 380 miles
- 8 to 9 days
- Loire River Valley
- Nantes to Anger to Tours to Orleans
- 240 miles
- 9 days counting travel time
Send your votes and other suggested tours to me whenever you get a chance.
