John and a product placement ad for the drink of choice on our tour, a Blizzard. |

We pulled up stakes fairly early the morning after McGrath and set off for Kenny’s house. Kenny is someone who John knew from high school. He lives in Sierra Madre, one of the nicer sections of Los Angeles.
We spent about 30 miles riding through farmland and 60 miles riding through city to get here. It was a long hot day. My mind felt all a jambles by the end. We came almost directly east from Oxnard. We stopped for lunch at Simi Valley. We rode on through the San Fernando valley, past Burbank, Glendale and finally into Pasadena.
We also stopped for a moment at Fuller Seminary so John could take a short look around.
I got my first flat on the trailer. While I’m here, I need to look for some tires before starting across the desert. I think we’re no longer going to San Diego, but instead turning east at Fallbrook.
